Progressive architects and clients are turning to story before the strait edge. The same key ingredients of screen and stage: Emotion, psychology and allegory, are hidden conspirators of great space design.
I begin each project by creating an underlying narrative that captures the soul of the experience we seek. The narrative becomes a long term experience objective- a powerful catalyst that links disparate partners and voices toward a more singular vision for a space.
My work in the category includes content design and direction, venue programming, writing, art direction/interior design including color, materials, sculpture, interactive, signage, lighting, furniture & fixtures, uniform design and beyond.
I established and led the environmental design arm at DK, completing projects for LAX Bradley International Terminal, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Nike Asia, MGM City Center, The Microsoft Store, Target Victory Park, Audi, Rose. Rabbit. Lie. Social Club, and many more.
My work in the category has garnered worldwide recognition including The Cannes Lions Grand Prix, SEGD Best in Show, One Show Gold Pencil, London International Awards, among several others. Both The Cosmopolitan and LAX projects were named to the 2014 SEGD Placemaking and Identity Awards, recognized as two of the of the top thirteen projects in the world for 2014.

I led the DK team and co-authored an original concept and narrative for the club. The narrative and accompanying film was maintained as the driving vision for the club from concept to completion over a multi-year period. Entertainment programmer, interior designer, restaurant group, architect and contractor were uniquely tied in mission around a singular vision.
A number of club features, and physical-narrative themes were completed throughout the club. An immersive 360-degree entertainment experience was derived from the same narrative, which blends music, performance art, and technology in a 1920 meets 2019 time warp.
BOSCH MEETS BEER SIGN. An original installation within the club consisting of a rewiring of Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych “Garden of Earthly Delights” , brought to life with long-forgotten mechanical Hamm’s beer sign technology.
This work is part of a overarching project that I led including narrative concept for the club, interior design narrative, physical installations, name, branding, broadcast and print.
My Role: Head of Creative, Creative Director / Creative Partner: Anthony Vitagliano, Director of Experience Design Co-ECD, Triptych Installation: Matt Mulder / In partnership with Avroko & Coastal Luxury Management
